ducks in a row

So far 2008 has gotten off to a great start.
Not sure if that is proper English or not- but my point is that things are going pretty smoothly these days.
Big daddy & I are actually spending some quality time together.
Lulu is over-the-top-a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e.
she is so incredibly affectionate.
Out of the blue she will just kiss me and ask for a "major hug" and tell me that she loves me.
She is my best little buddy and I love spending as much time with her as I can.
I just can't get enough of this phase.
In some ways I wish it would last forever.
I am, as one of my favourite bloggers suggests..."collecting the moments".
I'm finally getting some personal things accomplished and crossed off the ol' list.
One of which, being to finish my bedroom.
The wheels are in motion and I finally ordered some wallpaper for behind our bed.
I can't wait to get the room finished, as it will be the final room that needed to be done since we moved in four years ago.
My mom was staying with us all week and it was so nice having her here.
It gave big daddy & I the opportunity to go out for a movie and a fantastic dinner here.
I wish she lived closer so that she could be here more often, but the time we do get to spend together I am very grateful for.
I feel like we have so much time to make up for.
Since Lulu came into our lives we have never been closer- and I have never been more content.
I know this sounds corny- but I'm just so grateful.
and happy.

a bit of a lame post...but very distracting with big daddy watching CSI Miami in the background.

Glad to hear things are going so well so far in 2008. Graham is really huggy these days too and I just love it!

It's so nice to remember during those great periods to appreciate them and really revel in them. Good going. I'm just too tired to really love anything but my pillow these days, but even so, I am enjoying that Pumpkinpie is in a much better phase, work is relaxed right now, and things seem pretty good.

And not to be one of those people - but might you be happier with time with your mother *because* she lives farther away? Just wondering, because if my mother stayed even one entire day, my head would blow off. But then again, she is crazy.

Not corny at all... nice to hear something positive from someone. You know? There certainly is nothing wrong with venting every now and then - but it sure does seem like there's a whole lot of complaining out there and sometimes it just gets old. So anyway, it's nice to the positive along with the negative.

thanks for the shout-out, i feel honoured to be one of your favs. you, of course, are among my favourites too. i think there is something to be said for being 'grateful', or as a friend calls it 'greatful.' it feels so much better to be on the light side sometimes. i have a good feeling about 2008 too. hey - have you read eat.pray.love yet? it is a very inspiring, soulful read. i think you'd like it. keep collecting those moments.

Not corny at all, loved reading it!
Will make another note of said restaurant, my cousin is in town and I need a few places to check out with her!

Not lame or corny at all. I've been having some of those moments the last couple of days. Just so greatful and happy with all that is happening right now.

Lulu being cute is something to treasure and keep in your heart for the days when she may not be so cute or cuddly or for the teenage years.

Can't wait for the peanut to be affectionate and cute that way.
