tick tock

I'm pretty lucky in that I don't have to wake up to an alarm clock.
Those days are far behind me.
Thank-g-d.
I find it all so unnatural and cruel.
Then again, that's life I suppose.

Instead, these days I have a built in alarm clock.
Actually I have two.
One is 6 years old and full of energy and loves to come skipping into my room first thing on most mornings.
The other is my bladder.
Note to self- must stop drinking so much chamomile tea right before bed every night.

Anyhow our day starts around 7-7:30 am which is pretty respectable I think.
The morning routine is pretty calm and easy.
I'm pretty grateful for that seeing as I'm really not a morning person.
I like to ease into the day slowly and not feel rushed first thing.
How I ever survived getting up at 5:30- 6 every morning to go to work in my twenties & thirties I'll never know.
I do know, that I don't think I could ever go back to that.
I already mentioned how lucky I am right?

But it's amazing that a mere hour time change can make it so much more difficult to get out of bed in the morning.
I'm thrilled that it's light out longer, don't get me wrong.
But for some reason every year I have a hard time adjusting to the whole "spring forward" thing.
I could have kept on-keepin'-on this morning.

Is there anything better than a good nights sleep?
After all...

Sleep is the best meditation.

Can't argue with him..

I'm lucky like you in terms of not needing to set my alarm, but things have changed since my 20s. Back then I slept in until 10 or so. Now I'm up at 6:30 or 7 even if no one is trying to wake me up.

You're right though. Nothing beats sleep.

Because I work 3 days a week I have half the week when I have to be up at 6.30 to hustle everyone out of the house, and half when I can wake a tad later. Like 7am or thereabouts. It's most confusing to the body!
